The Career Services Accelerator

 You're being asked to
transform career services.

Without enough staff.
Without enough time.
Without enough authority.

Yet expectations around student outcomes, workforce readiness, and institutional impact continues to grow.
Sound familiar?

Lead change. Build momentum. Elevate impact.

The Career Services Accelerator is a confidential leadership community for chief career officers who are driving institutional change.

The challenges you're facing are bigger than career services.

   The work has fundamentally changed.

Career leaders are being asked to drive institutional strategy, not just deliver programs.
That means building ecosystems, influencing faculty and senior leaders, increasing engagement, telling the story of impact,
and leading change — often while managing staffing shortages, overwhelm, and competing priorities.

If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

Who should join?

The Career Services Accelerator is designed for leaders of career centers and major career-connected initiatives
at two- and four-year institutions who are working to advance career development at scale. Members come
together to tackle complex challenges, exchange practical solutions, and gain perspective from peers
leading similar efforts across higher education.

  • Career ecosystem development
  • Faculty engagement

No two institutions are exactly alike, but the leadership challenges often are.

What makes The Accelerator different?

Unlike traditional leadership development programs, the agenda isn't set by a curriculum. It's shaped by the leaders in the room.

Members bring the issues they are actively navigating—from strategic planning, managing change, navigating
supervision challenges, communicating the value of career, scaling services, and more. Together, we
explore challenges, share perspectives, test ideas, and identify practical next steps.

The result is a collaborative space where experienced leaders gain trusted thought partners,
fresh perspectives, and actionable solutions to move their work forward.

What to Expect

 Core Sessions

Core Sessions are the foundation of the Accelerator experience. These highly interactive 90-minute sessions explore topics selected by the group, combining new ideas, practical strategies, and peer perspectives. Members leave with fresh insights, actionable takeaways, and greater clarity on the challenges and opportunities they are navigating.

 Ask Me Anything (AMA) Sessions

These hour-long open format meetings occur once/month and provide optional space for Accelerators to bring topics to the group for advice and support from their peers.

A Growing Library of Proven Strategies

Every Core session adds to a growing collection of recordings, worksheets, and practical resources shaped by the real challenges career services leaders are facing. Members gain access not only to future conversations, but also to years of collective insight, problem-solving, and tested approaches on the Accelerator platform.

Bonus: 1:1 Coaching

Accelerators who commit to six months or more gain access to a private 1:1 coaching session. Leaders use these sessions to dive into 2-3 specific issues they are working through and gain immediate strategies and actionable next steps.

FAQs

The Accelerator is not built around a fixed curriculum. Topics are selected and shaped by members based on the challenges and opportunities they are actively navigating.

Recent Core Sessions have explored topics such as effective storytelling, aligning career services with institutional priorities, creating a shared vision, gaining campus buy-in, resource advocacy, faculty engagement, and addressing personal and staff burnout.

In addition, members regularly bring real-time challenges to the Think Tank for collective problem-solving. Discussions have included salary inequities, strategic planning, performance management, organizational change, faculty partnerships, resource advocacy, staff engagement, and leading through periods of uncertainty.

No two years look exactly alike because the agenda evolves with the needs of the group.

The Accelerator is built on trust. Members frequently discuss real challenges and sensitive situations they are navigating at their institutions, which requires a commitment to confidentiality.

Accelerators establish shared ground rules for participation, including respecting the confidentiality of discussions. Any concerns regarding these expectations will be addressed promptly.

The Career Services Accelerator brings together leaders of career centers and major career initiatives from colleges and universities of all types and sizes.

Members range from new directors to seasoned executives, but all share a common goal: advancing career development, overcoming institutional barriers, and creating greater impact for students.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Membership varies from year to year based on who joins the Accelerator.

While you may connect with leaders from institutions similar to your own, some of the most valuable learning comes from hearing how others approach challenges in different contexts.

The Accelerator is designed for leaders who are open to new perspectives and willing to adapt ideas to their own institutions.

Both options are designed to help career services leaders navigate complex challenges and drive meaningful change, but they do so in different ways.

Individual strategy coaching provides dedicated support focused entirely on your institution, goals, and challenges. If you're looking for personalized guidance, accountability, and a thought partner to help you move a specific initiative forward, coaching may be the best fit.

The Accelerator brings together leaders of career centers and major career initiatives to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and work through challenges collaboratively. If you value diverse perspectives, peer support, and the opportunity to learn from how others are approaching similar issues, the Accelerator may be a better fit.

Many leaders find value in both. In fact, strategy coaching clients on six-month or longer engagements who meet the requirements for the Accelerator receive a complimentary six-month Accelerator membership.

Not sure which option is right for you? Schedule a brief conversation with Rebekah to explore your goals and determine the best fit.

The Accelerator is designed for busy leaders. Most members participate in the monthly 90-minute Core Session and, when their schedules allow, the optional 60-minute Ask Me Anything session.

There is little required preparation, making it easy to gain fresh perspectives and practical solutions without adding another major commitment to your calendar.

Yes, Paré Consulting has a limited number of scholarships available. Reach out to Rebekah to discuss.
